it was the 18th of feb i was 37 weeks gone i went to see my mate as i was asking her to b his godmother when i got there i started having pains in my tummy i was in agony so i phoned the hospital kings mill at mansfield the midwife there said take 2 pain killers if u feel no better after a hour call back the pain was the same so i called back they told me to go in for a check up i did that when i got there they took me to the labour ward and did a scan they said all was ok they thought id got a water infection and said we will keep you in over night to observe and see how i went they took me up on a ward i was in bad pain allnight the midwife told me to stop bothering them and gave me 2 pain killers the next morning a trainee nurse come to do a trace when the trace was finnished she looked at it and said i need to see the dr as the trace had things on it that she had seen befor she went than the dr come he looked at the trace and said we need to do a section today your baby is very ill this was 10 am in the morning i waited and waited for the dr to come back and tell me when i was having my baby a nurse come to see me at 1 oclock for bloods to send of to sheffield the midwife sent up for me at 5 pm to go to the labour ward on ariving there i was to have bloods again this time my 14 year old daughter was asked if she would roll the tube in her hands to see if it clotted or not at 5 30 they put moniters on me to hear the babys heart beat they could not get in touch with my consultant as he was playing golf that day by half past 6 still my blood result hadnt come bk i was in bad pain but they still did nothing i begged them to take me for my baby my daughter was there the whole time just holding my hand by 6 45 something was wrong the midwife had put the monitor on but was picking up my heart beat not my babys they desided to take me to theatre they put me to sleep at 6 59 my baby was born he was born dead he died 1 min befor he was born i had had a abruption he blead to death in side of me when i come round i knew that he had died i blamed the hospital for taking so long so i set out to sue the hospital it went to a tribunal the hospital said it was a error of judgment all i wanted was for them to say it was there fault but all i got at the inquest was that the consultant had gone on to b a top dr in manchester not sorry for the loss of your child i won my case but i didnt want any money just for them to say sorry but i will never get that my little boy was 6lb 15 oz born over 10 years ago and it is still like yesterday that he was taken from me i am still bitter about what happned but since that happned i have had 2 more children but none can take his place or ever will theres not a day that goes bye i dont think of him and cry it dont get any better i have his pic on my pc so every time i start it up hes there looking at me ive also got his pick on my phone so he is with me all the time thank you for reading my story sue
